Jingsheng Dong,professor in the History Department and director of the Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies at Peking University, and vice-president of the Chinese Association of Latin American Studies, member of academic committees in the Institutes of Latin Ameri¬can Studies of Chinese Social Science Academy. Research interests include the history of Latin America, current Latin American politics, and the relations between China and Latin American countries. The main publications includes The Process of Modernization in Brazil (1991), Latin American History (2010), Mayan Descendants (2010), Land and Liberty: the Peasant Mobilization in Mexico,(2019). and many articles in English, Spanish and Chinese. Professor Dong used to study and do research in the United States, Mexico, the Netherlands, Spain, etc., and participate academic conferences in Germany, Argentina, Costa Rica, Cuba, Japan and Korea, etc..
