Mu Tao, professor of the Department of History, is the Member of the 8th Disciplinary Appraisal Group of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council, the Vice Chairman of the Chinese Association of Asian and African Studies, the Vice President of the Chinese Society of African Historical Studies, the Director of the Chinese Research Association of World Modern History, the Vice President of the Shanghai Federation of Social Science Association, and the Dean and doctoral supervisor of Da Xia College of East China Normal University. His major works include General History of Africa (first author), History of China-Africa Relations (co-author), A Study of South African Foreign Relations and Lost Civilization: Egypt, etc. His published articles include “Spread and Influence of Islam in Black Africa”, “The Bandung Conference and the Recovery and Development of Modern Sino-African Relations”,“Impact of the Mining Revolution on the Social and Economic Development of South Africa”, “African Economic Integration Acceleration”, etc.
