Jun Jin (Ph.D., University of Minnesota) is an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology at Tsinghua University. His research focuses on urban sociology, environmental sociology, and political sociology. His work has long examined issues such as urbanization, community governance, environmental NGOs, and climate change.
His recent publications include “Split Housing Patterns: Homeownership Choices among Rural Migrant Workers in Cities,” “The Power of Structure: Life and Death on the *Titanic*,” “The Class Distribution of Air Pollution: Evidence from the Air Quality Index in Beijing,” and “Conflicting Climate Change Frames in a Global Field of Media Discourse.”
He received the Tsinghua University Annual Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2017, and was honored with the “Students’ Favorite Teacher” title in the 6th and 7th Qingyun Candlelight Awards at Tsinghua University in 2016 and 2018.
