On September 14, 2024 , the symposium on “Southeast Asia's foreign relations after the WWⅡ” was successfully held in Tsinghua Science Park. The symposium was hosted by the Institute for International and Area Studies of Tsinghua University (hereinafter referred to as the "IIAS"). More than 10 experts from institutions such as East China Normal University, Xiamen University, Beijing Foreign Studies University, Shanghai International Studies University, Anhui Normal University, Zhejiang Normal University, and Tsinghua University attended. The meeting was hosted by Li Yuqing, assistant Professor, Guan Hao, Ph.D. candidate and Qin Beichen, Ph.D. candidate of IIAS, .
At the opening ceremony, Professor Jiang Jingkui, Director of the IIAS, welcomed all the experts, and emphasized the important academic significance and value of this symposium. In the keynote speech, Liang Zhi, Director and Professor of the Department of History of East China Normal University, shared several entry points for future research on the history of foreign relations in Southeast Asia. Subsequently, Chen Bo, Professor of the Department of History of East China Normal University, Gao Yanjie, Dean and Professor of the School of International Relations/Nanyang Research Institute of Xiamen University, Xia Fangbo, Lecturer of the School of International Relations of Beijing Foreign Studies University, Lu Juexuan, Lecturer of the School of Oriental Languages of Shanghai International Studies University, and Han Changqing, Assistant Researcher of the Department of History of East China Normal University, respectively reported. In the afternoon, Yin Mengmeng, Associate Professor of the School of History of Anhui Normal University, An Junpu, Lecturer of the School of Humanities of Zhejiang Normal University, Chen Hongyun, Assistant Professor of the School of Marxism of Xiamen University, You Lan, Associate Professor of the Department of History of East China Normal University , Li Yuqing, Assistant Professor of the IIAS, Ph.D. candidate Guan Hao and Ph.D. candidate Qin Beichen gave speech respectively, sharing their research outcome around the theme of the conference.
After speeches, the experts also held a roundtable discussion on topics such as the foreign relations of Southeast Asian countries after the WWⅡ. The symposium lasted a whole day, and the experts had a lively and in-depth discussion on topics related to the foreign relations of Southeast Asia.
