On the afternoon of April 20, 2026, Long Guijie, Associate Professor at the China–ASEAN Research Institute of Guangxi University and Director of the Editorial Office of ASEAN Studies, visited IIAS and held a discussion session with faculty members.

Participants from IIAS included He Yan and Yuan Mengqi, Assistant Professors, as well as Guan Hao, Postdoctoral Research Fellow.

During the meeting, Long Guijie introduced the development of Guangxi University’s China–ASEAN Research Institute and provided a detailed overview of its academic publishing initiatives. Faculty members from IIAS also shared updates on the Institute’s development.

Both sides then engaged in in-depth discussions on the positioning, manuscript solicitation, and publication of academic journals focused on fieldwork in area studies, and explored practical pathways for strengthening future communication and cooperation.

The visit enhanced mutual understanding between IIAS and the China–ASEAN Research Institute of Guangxi University, laying a solid foundation for future practical collaboration.
