Tsinghua Journal of Field Research is a Chinese academic journal hosted by the Institute of International and Area Studies at Tsinghua University and published by The Commercial Press. The journal aims to use field research, with both immersive and in-depth perspectives, as its foundation to reflect on existing disciplinary and thematic fieldwork methodologies and theories, promote systematic and innovative research in fieldwork, and explore long-term development paths for area and country studies through foundational and diverse field investigations, thus establishing a methodological basis for interdisciplinary area studies.

The journal is positioned as a methodological journal for area and country studies, focusing on and exploring key issues such as fieldwork and multidisciplinary development in area studies, fieldwork theories and methods, fieldwork ethics, and fieldwork case studies. It advocates scholarly research on fieldwork and publishes original academic papers on fieldwork methodologies around specific themes from multidisciplinary, multinational, or cross-regional perspectives. The inaugural issue was published in the autumn of 2023, with two issues released each year.
