    Personal Profile

      Dr. Chongsheng Yang holds a PhD from Tsinghua University and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at St Antony's College, Oxford University. He has conducted research visits at the University of Cape Town, Makerere University, University of Rwanda, and the University of Mauritius. With over a decade of experience in sub-Saharan African studies, he has carried out extensive fieldwork in South Africa, Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Mauritius. His main research areas and interests include African economic development, informal economy, special economic zones, and area (regional) and country-specific theories and practices.
