Prof. Ma Hong is Tenured Professor and Doctoral Supervisor of the Department of Economics at the School of Economics and Management, Tsinghua University. Research Fellow at National Center for Economic Research, Think Tank Center and Data Center at Tsinghua University. Coordinator of the Bachelor in Economics Program. Selected as Young Changjiang Scholar by the Ministry of Education in 2018.

Graduated from the Department of World Economics, Fudan University in 2002, with Bachelor in Economics (Outstanding University Graduate in Shanghai). PhD in Economics from the University of California, Davis, 2009.

Associate Editor of Journal of Comparative Economics and China Economic Review. Long serve as Consultant to the Ministry of Commerce and the General Administration of Customs.

His research interest covers international trade and economic development. Published papers in leading journals at home and abroad, including Economic Research, Economics Quarterly, Financial Research, The Economic Journal, Review of Economics and Statistics, Journal of International Economics and Journal of Comparative Economics.
