主讲人简介:

Charlotte Epstein 是东京大学高等研究院东京学院教授,并兼任丹麦国际问题研究所研究员。她于剑桥大学获得国际关系硕士和博士学位,研究聚焦语言与政治之间的交叉关系,尤其关注话语理论与话语分析。她的代表作有《Birth of the State: The Place of the Body in Crafting Modern Politics》和《 The Power of Words in International Relations: Birth of an Anti-whaling Discourse》。此外,她还在国际关系、政治理论、社会学和环境政治等领域的顶级期刊上发表了大量研究成果。
Charlotte Epstein is Professor at Tokyo College, the University of Tokyo's Institute for Advanced Studies, and is also affiliated with the Danish Institute for International Studies. She received her MPhil and PhD in International Relations from the University of Cambridge. Her research focuses on the intersections of language and politics, particularly through discourse theory and discourse analysis.
She is the author of Birth of the State: The Place of the Body in Crafting Modern Politics (Oxford University Press, 2021), winner of the 2023 International Studies Association Best Book Award and the 2023 Yale H. Ferguson Award. She also authored The Power of Words in International Relations: Birth of an Anti-whaling Discourse (MIT Press, 2008), and has published widely in leading journals in international relations, political theory, sociology, and environmental politics.
